Frequently asked questions

Have a question? Here are answers to the things we get asked most. For anything centre-specific, contact your local team.

Do I need to book in advance?

All customers should book in advance via their centre's website. Centres fill up rapidly, so please reserve your space before travelling to avoid disappointment.

If I bring someone but do not climb myself, do I need a ticket?

There is no need to buy a ticket if you are simply spectating.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing and trainers.

Open-toed shoes, flip flops, boots, crocs, climbing shoes and heels are not permitted in the climbing arena.

Long hair must be tied back and loose jewellery, hats and hooded tops removed before climbing. We also recommend avoiding skirts and dresses.

Is there disabled access?

Each centre is very different. If you need information about access, please contact your local centre and they will talk you through their facilities.

Do I need to bring any equipment?

No. All equipment is provided and there are no additional hire fees.

How long does a Clip 'n Climb session last?

Typically 90 minutes: a 30-minute safety briefing and harness fitting, 55 minutes in the arena and 5 minutes to debrief and remove harnesses.

Please check with your local centre, as session lengths can differ.

What are your opening times?

Every centre sets its own opening times. Check your centre page or contact the centre directly before travelling.

Can I leave my child unattended?

Each centre has its own policy, so please confirm with the centre you plan to visit in advance.

Are there weight restrictions?

Climbers must weigh at least 10kg and no more than 150kg. This allows our auto belays and Belay Mate to function safely.

What age can children start climbing?

Clip 'n Climb is suitable for climbers aged 4 and upwards. Younger children are welcome at centres with soft play.
